Membership and Admission Investiture into our Order is a great honor and brings with it great responsibility. The history of our Order for more than nine hundred years is filled with examples of heroic service to our church, and the spirit of service in fulfilling the Mission of the Order today is no less important. Indeed, circumstances around the world call for a renewed dedication to our Mission in the service of our Church and Christians in the Holy Land. Candidates for investiture must embrace the Mission of the Order and be willing to enthusiastically serve the Order in the fulfillment of its Mission. Whether retired or still actively engaged in family and careers, Candidates should bring energy, passion and vitality to the Order. However, all Candidates must meet the criteria below. Married couples are encouraged to come into the Order together. We are a working Order and though members often differ in their capacity to serve and support the Order, every member is expected to do so to the best of their ability. Additionally, Candidates for nomination must meet the following criteria:
Personal relationship - Candidates must be personally known to the nominator. Worthiness - Knighthood is an honor and a Papal Decoration in Recognition of Merit. In addition to a capacity to serve and support the Order and embrace its Mission, the candidate must be worthy of recognition for service to the Church, to their community and to others. Conduct - Candidates, in their conduct, should exemplify the traditional principles of chivalry, i.e., charity, courtesy, loyalty, largess and gentility. Membership to the Order is made upon nomination by current members. Nomination forms can be obtained from the Lieutenant's office. |
