When invested in the Order, members make a commitment to support the efforts of the Order and the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem to preserve a living Christian presence in the Holy Land. An active Christian community in the land that the Lord made holy by his presence is of critical importance to every Catholic and Christian. It is important that the Holy Land never become like the Forum in Rome, the Parthenon in Greece and the Incan and Mayan ruins of South and Central America where future historians will record that "something important" happened in that place many years ago.

Each year, the Lieutenant makes an appeal to the members for their annual contribution. It often is coupled with a special request for a supplemental contribution to be applied to specific purposes such as humanitarian aid and/or the Patriarchal schools.
