Legacy Giving Estate planning has many aspects, but they all boil down to how you use your assets to help the persons and causes you care about, both during your lifetime and after you have died. Many people have a will describing how their assets are to be distributed after their death. Some have put their assets into a living trust, which appoints some person or company as a successor trustee to distribute their assets after their death, instead of depending on the probate court to appoint an executor. For people with larger estates, irrevocable trusts in favor of their heirs or charities are often used to reduce the impact of estate taxes. Some of these trusts, called charitable remainder trusts, can be used to provide lifetime income while creating a current charitable tax deduction to reduce income tax. Regardless of what kind of estate plan you have, or the size of your estate, including the Equestrian Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulchre is a good idea. Through a bequest in your will or inclusion of the Order as a charitable beneficiary under a living trust, you can make an enduring statement of your concern for the Church in the Holy Land. Your generosity will live on in the charitable and spiritual works of the Order. |
